Media Release — Short term rentals work hard for all Australians
A survey by the Australia and New Zealand Short Term Rental Association (ASTRA) found that short-term rentals are vital for accommodating key workers, business travelers, and those needing temporary housing due to relocation, medical visits, or natural disasters. In fact, 39% of stays are for reasons other than holidays, with family and friend visits making up 14%, business trips 8%, and insurance-related stays 6%.
Builder Blayne Sanderson, who frequently books short-term rentals for his work crews across regional NSW, appreciates the home-like environment they provide. He finds them more cost-effective than hotels and motels, with rental homes offering better opportunities for crew bonding and self-catering, which boosts morale.
