ASTRA is urging the NSW Government to include short-term rentals in its tourism strategy, emphasising their role in helping achieve the state’s $91 billion visitor spend target by 2035.
Yoav Tourel, Chairman of ASTRA, argues that short-term rentals provide unique, high-quality accommodation that aligns with the government’s goals of enhancing regional tourism and delivering memorable visitor experiences. He also warns that regulatory measures, such as bed night caps, could reduce available accommodation and increase prices, making it vital to consider short-term rentals in future planning.
