Rob Jeffress

Rob is a passionate advocate for the STR industry and its future as a valued and worthy core sector of the accommodation industry in Australia.

As an owner of luxury holiday homes and partner in leading holiday rental businesses, Rob has a keen appreciation for the challenges owners and managers face in a rapidly changing environment and the regulatory pressures brought to bear on our industry by competitive accommodation sectors.

It is Rob’s conviction that ASTRA should embrace all sectors of the industry, that the Board should be a forum for a diversity of views and provide representation to assist in our work to protect, serve, empower, represent, and promote the interests of our member

Yoav Tourel

Vice Chairman


Yoav is an accomplished tech savvy leader with 20+ years experience across marketing-tech and travel-tech in APAC and EMEA.Since 2019 Yoav has been leading Guesty, a Property Management Software, in JAPAC, consulting to many property managers in the urban and holiday rentals space.

Born and Bred in Israel, Yoav has called Australia home since 2006. He’s a proud father of 4, married to a vet and is usually known as Yoey. He also an amateur stand up comedian performing in Sydney.

Joseph Leung

Director


Joseph has been running his own short term rental business since 2016, with an innovative business model in multiple cities across Australia. He strongly believes he can bring new synergy and industry practises by joining ASTRA. As the market changed rapidly in the last 5 years, as a suburban/urban market practitioner like Joseph will benefit the board of ASTRA.

Being a young Asian entrepreneur and also a trilingual speaker, Joseph believes he will be able to benefit ASTRA by diversifying culture background practitioners. He is a strong believer in the future prospect in STRA and believes that it will be a dominant trend of the future hospitality industry.

Bart Sobies

Director


Bart, an up and coming leader in the tourism space is the founder of ibooked.online & The Accommodation Show. A serial entrepreneur, having started his first online business at the age of 15 and he is an ardent pursuer of all things tech, marketing and investment in the accommodation space. Bart has been at the helm of several successful tech companies, building great digital products, leading sales & marketing teams helping them grow into multi-million $ businesses.

He set up ibooked.online to help accommodation owners and managers get their online presence up to scratch, the Accommodation Show to help owners thrive and The Accommodation Managers and Owners Community on Facebook.

Marcela Zamora

Director


Marcela is an experienced Accountant, Project Manager, Chief Financial Officer and Property Developer. She is also currently undertaking a Bachelor's Degree in Law (Graduate Entry). Her background includes over 20 years’ experience in pivotal positions where Marcie has been fortunate to enjoy commercial success both in internal management positions, and as a successful business consultant and project manager.

Marcie is an Affiliate member of CPA Australia and has worked in accounting and finance management roles for many years. She is currently Chief Financial Officer and Trust Accountant for The Avenue Property Co. (Real Estate). With a strong aptitude in property development.

David Harris

Director


David has over 23 years experience working in disability care & employment consulting. During that time, David invested in property and started in STRA with Stayz back in 2004. By 2014, he turned all 7 properties to STRA in 3 states and 6 council areas.

By November 2017, David made the step to use PMS software: Newbook. In February 2018, www.aussiechillout.com.au was formed to promote and get more direct bookings. With over 18 years of experience in STRA, he only manages his own 7 properties.

David likes to wear Hawaiian shirts, travel, and find work/life balance while chilling with church, family and friends. David embraces new technology and learning to improve with STRA.

Phil Spyrou

Director


Phil started his career as a community pharmacist. After 5 years of study, and only 2 years of practice, he discovered the magic of short term rentals. He enjoys spending a few months per year in Greece, where he also manages property. Phil is there mainly over the Greek summer and mainly on the islands, which is where his heritage is from.

Managing properties on opposite sides of the globe can be quite the challenge but it does also lead to Phil being able to bring some fresh thoughts and ideas over from Europe.

Pawan Sinha

Director


Pawan’s background is business/IT consulting. For more than 10 years he was assisting large businesses in areas such sales, logistic, inventory management and Customer relationship management around the globe.

While travelling for projects works Pawan stayed in various hotels around the globe. He felt that staying in hotels are somewhat boring and not very satisfying specially for stays longer than a week.

With this vision to provide amazing experiences to guests/travellers, Pawan started Amazing Accommodations in 2014 with one apartment. Currently, they manage more than 100 apartments across 3 buildings.

Jon has been appointed as the NZ Director for the ASTRA board. Jon’s professional experience spans construction management, corporate finance, valuation, sales, and property management. With a passion for travel, property, and people, Jon’s solution-based attitude is a refreshing addition to the short-term rental industry, bringing a dynamic approach to each new challenge.

As CEO and Founder of The Urban Butler, a boutique, guest experience-based, short-term accommodation business, Jon is at the forefront of innovation in the industry.
